Dear Classmates,                                                                       February 1, 2012

On February 1, 2012 we held an Annual Meeting of the Class of 64 at the Army Navy Country Club in Washington, DC.  We had a good turnout of 37 Classmates. The two primary purposes of the Meetings were to consider a Petition and to elect our Class Officers (except President) for another year.

The purpose of the Petition, authored by David Tuma, was “to ensure a vote occurs and to provide [a] choice to all voting members of the Association if any revision to the Constitution and ByLaws is proposed” to our Membership. The Petition further offered: “ the 9/17/11 Alternative Revision as the alternative revision to any others that are offered or may be offered in the future”. There are no other revisions offered at this time.

An Executive Committee Resolution, approved by a vote of 16 to 1,at its January 2012 meeting, was read at the Annual Meeting. It recommended the Petition be rejected because: “such a requirement is unusual, unreasonable and not in accordance with procedures generally followed by other organizations”.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the Petition. Discussions preceded and followed the motion. A vote was taken and the motion failed by a count of 28 to 6. Therefore, the petition is rejected by the Membership.

The following Officers were elected to the Executive Committee for 2012:

     Executive V.P. Gordy Clow;

     Administrative V.P. Ken Henry;

     Secretary Bill Sargent;

     Treasurer Dave Wagner;

     Members at-large Denny Connelly, Waddy Garrett and John Tweel.

Chuck Wilde made a motion to post the minutes of Executive Committee meetings on the Class website within seven days of approval. It was seconded and unanimously approved.

Very best regards,

Bill Natter

Pres. USNA Class of 1964
