Classmates:

Col. Art Athens, USMC(Ret) Director of the James B. Stockdale Center of Ethical Leadership at the Naval Academy passes on the following news of Big Navy’s recommended use of the Ethics for the Junior Officer.

The Navy’s  Center of Personal and Professional Development Command (CPPD) recently recommended to all Navy leadership (every Admiral, Chief of Staff, Commanding Officer, OIC, and CMC) that they refocus their efforts to: “fulfill (their) professional responsibility to train and mentor respective command personnel in the principals of ethical leadership by starting with the electronic case study resources of Ethics for the Junior Officer produced by the Academy’s Center of Ethical Leadership.

The CPPD Command recommendation reflects the Navy’s recognition of the value of our Class project to not only midshipmen, but all officers of the Naval Service. Kudos to Gordy Clow, class project manager of the book and its conversion to electronic format, and to all classmates who have supported this Class project since its inception.

Very best regards,
